Do a Lot of People Get Their Teeth Whitened?

Absolutely! Cosmetic teeth whitening is the #1 requested treatment procedure and ranks second only to hair treatments in the beauty industry. You might be surprised by how many people choose to whiten their teeth. A bright, white smile can significantly impact self-esteem and confidence, enhancing how individuals feel about themselves in various social situations. It's a popular choice for anyone looking to improve their smile and boost their overall appearance.

Is Teeth Whitening safe?

At Pure White, we take pride in using a specialized whitening gel exclusively formulated by our dental lab. This unique, organic formula is derived from plant and mineral sources and includes built-in enamel-strengthening properties. Extensive scientific research confirms that the active ingredients in our gels are both safe and effective.

Our whitening equipment is FDA-approved and has been trusted in the dental and cosmetic communities for years. Importantly, our teeth whitening process does not alter or damage the structure of your teeth; it gently lifts and removes years of stubborn stains, leaving you with a brighter, more radiant smile.

When used as directed, teeth whitening products, especially those approved by dental associations do not harm tooth enamel. However, excessive or improper use of some whitening products can lead to temporary tooth sensitivity or gum irritation. Therefore, it’s essential to follow professional guidelines to ensure safe and effective results.

Is the LED Light Safe? Can It Cause Any Harm?

Our LED light used in cosmetic teeth whitening is 100% safe and has been shown to produce better and faster results compared to other whitening methods. Our products have undergone extensive testing and have proven to cause no harm to enamel or gums.

Am I a good candidate for teeth whitening?

At Pure White Whitening, we’re excited to offer transformative results for anyone looking to enhance their smile. Our treatment is designed to effectively address stains from common habits like smoking and from beverages such as coffee, tea, soda, and red wine. Many of our clients also see great improvements if they have discoloration due to medications, genetics, aging, or hereditary factors.

While most individuals are excellent candidates for our teeth whitening services, we always recommend a consultation to discuss your unique needs and determine the best approach for achieving the brightest results. If you’re ready to brighten your smile and boost your confidence, the Pure White team is here to guide you on your journey!

Does teeth whitening really work?

Yes, teeth whitening is effective, but the results can vary depending on the method used. At Pure White, we offer professional treatments that use dental-grade formulas, which provide better and longer-lasting results compared to over-the-counter whitening kits. Our treatments are designed to safely and effectively whiten your teeth, giving you a brighter smile.

Does insurance cover the cost of teeth whitening procedures?

No, dental insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures, including teeth whitening.

How long does it take?

Our Signature 60-minute treatment includes three 20-minute whitening sessions, delivering optimal results by removing most layers of staining. The total appointment time is 90 minutes to allow for informed consent, before and after photos, and a discussion of aftercare and other details.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

If plaque is present, scheduling a deep cleaning with your dentist a few days before your appointment will enhance your overall results. If your teeth are already clean, simply brush and floss prior to your visit. The cleaner the surface of your teeth, the better the whitening results you can expect. Once you book your appointment, you'll receive a confirmation email with more details on how to maximize your teeth whitening experience.

How many shades whiter will my teeth get?

Individual results may vary based on your current tooth shade, treatment duration, and the unique composition of your teeth. On average, our clients see an improvement of two to sixteen shades whiter, resulting in a noticeably brighter and healthier smile. Keep in mind that everyone’s teeth are different, with factors like body chemistry, dental health, and genetics playing a role in how your teeth respond to treatment. Each person will have a natural stopping point for their whitening, but the "WOW!" factor is always impressive.

How long will my teeth stay white?

The longevity of your whitening results varies from person to person and depends on factors such as diet, lifestyle, and oral hygiene. Typically, results last between 4 to 6 months. However, with proper maintenance, good oral hygiene practices, and regular touch-up treatments, you can keep your smile looking great for a lifetime.

How often can I get my teeth whitened?

As often as you like! There are no health risks involved with our method of teeth whitening. In more moderate staining we recommend a second or third visit to acquire your desired shade.
There is no limit on how many treatments that you can have done. Because our products are mineral based, FDA approved, organic, vegan, and cruelty free. They are safe for all types of teeth, with minimal to zero sensitivity.
We recommend maintenance through our touch-up treatments every 3-6 months.

Why Isn’t the Area Near My Gums as White After Whitening?

It’s common for there to be a seamless transition in the color of your teeth, with the biting surfaces appearing whiter than the areas near the gum line. This is expected because the enamel is thinner near the gum line, allowing some of the naturally yellower inner dentin layer to show through. This slight gradient in color contributes to a more natural appearance, avoiding a uniform "Chiclet" look, which can appear unnatural. So, if you notice this difference, rest assured that it's a normal result of the whitening process.

How Will Whitening Affect Small White Spots on My Teeth?

It’s common for decalcified areas of a tooth to respond to whitening more quickly than the surrounding tooth structure. As you continue with the whitening process, the rest of the tooth will gradually catch up, resulting in a more uniform color. Over time, this should help minimize the appearance of those small white spots, leading to a more consistent smile.

What If I Have Sensitive Teeth?

At Pure White Professional Teeth Whitening, we prioritize delivering exceptional results while ensuring our clients experience minimal to zero sensitivity. Our signature gel is made from all-natural ingredients, allowing for a comfortable treatment that clients find enjoyable. We utilize specialized plant and mineral-based ingredients scientifically proven to help prevent sensitivity.
As part of our commitment to your dental health, we include a remineralizing gel for you to take home. This essential treatment helps maintain the integrity of your teeth and is not viewed as an extra cost—it's an integral part of your whitening journey that sets us apart.
While a very small percentage of clients may experience slight sensitivity, particularly if they are dehydrated, have a long-term history of sensitivity, or consume extremely cold or hot foods or drinks within two hours after the whitening session, any sensitivity is usually short-lived, lasting only 12 to 24 hours. For those who are concerned about sensitivity, we also offer solutions to ensure your comfort.

Does It Work on Existing Dental Work ?

Yes, our teeth whitening treatment effectively removes stains from existing dental work, restoring them to their original color. Our goal is to clean and brighten your natural teeth to create a harmonious, even smile. However, it’s important to note that we cannot whiten dental restorations beyond the original shade used during placement.
If your dental work is not in your smile line, the shade difference will be less noticeable. While teeth whitening won’t alter the intrinsic (inside) color of restorations, it can remove some extrinsic (surface) stains without harming the dental work. If your natural teeth are darker than your restorations, whitening may help bring them closer in shade for a more uniform appearance.

What If I Have Traditional Metal Braces?

We recommend whitening your teeth either before getting traditional metal braces or after they are removed. Whitening prior to braces allows you to address any existing stains and achieve a brighter smile before the braces are in place. Once your braces are removed, whitening can enhance the overall appearance of your smile by eliminating any discoloration that may have occurred during treatment. Please consult with your orthodontist to determine the best timing for your whitening treatment.

What if I Have Invisalign Brackets?

If you currently have Invisalign brackets, our whitening treatment can effectively remove years of stains while keeping your dental work intact. Our procedure is safe and won’t compromise the integrity of your existing orthodontic treatment.
We recommend undergoing whitening with Invisalign if you have at least six months remaining in your treatment plan. If you have less time than that, it’s best to wait until after your braces are removed for optimal results.
Additionally, getting a whitening treatment prior to the placement of Invisalign or traditional braces is a great option to consider. As always, consult your orthodontist if you have any concerns regarding your treatment.

Do I Still Need to See My Dentist for Cleanings if I Have a Teeth Whitening Treatment?

Yes, cosmetic teeth whitening is not a substitute for your regular dental care. In fact, routine dental cleanings are highly recommended and encouraged. It’s important to continue scheduling visits with your dentist at least every six months to maintain the health of your teeth, gums, and overall oral cavity. A healthy mouth provides a better foundation for effective teeth whitening results.

What is the Aftercare?

To maintain your results, follow "The White Diet" for 24 to 48 hours after your teeth whitening treatment. Simply put, avoid consuming anything that would stain a white T-shirt. After a whitening treatment, the micropores in your enamel are open and more vulnerable to stains. Once these micropores close—usually within 48 hours—you can resume your normal eating habits.

What should I avoid for the first 24-48 hours?
